Interiors going international

MORE AND more international brands are being introduced in almost every sphere of life, what with the number of people with disposable incomes increasing in the IT-rich city.

European brands, particularly from Germany, and more of Italian tiles, are set to invade your bedrooms and kitchens.

They bring in features such as Gullwing sections in cabinets, maximising every inch of space. "Chromeline" interiors and soft closing doors and drawers ensure longevity and convenience.

Furniture have automatic air sealing, making them air tight. Wardrobes that go up to 16 feet are available with both sliding and hinged doors. They come in various styles, sizes and finishes to choose from like lacquer, wood and opaque glass.

A wide range of contemporary and hitherto unseen international designs are on show in the 3,000 square feet showroom, Nolte Home Studio, in Koramangala, opposite Forum. Even small apartment or bungalow owners may look for `cheaper' options.

You may check up one of Europe's brands called JOOPI Living bedroom collections. A bedroom or a kitchen cost Rs. 2 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs.

You also have a kitchen design service centre, where a consultant is available to advice you on kitchen planning.

Showroom

Those looking for international brands in tiles now have a huge tiles and ceramic showroom on Lady Curzon Road. Called Atlas Concorde Studio, it is claimed to be the largest tiles and ceramic ware showroom in South India.

This showroom, spread over 700 square metres in three floors, displays floor and wall tiles, ceramic ware, shower panels, steam boxes, whirlpools, Jacuzzis, steam sauna baths, sanitaryware and bath accessories.

Sauna baths with integrated LCD screens, FM radio are on display. Aromatherapy gadgets are also sold here.
